I recognise some of my negatives are nitpicking, but we’ll be taking some long road trips with the kids in tow and we want a car that we’ll enjoy spending time in. Taking a little risk with it being early days, but both wife and I really like the look of it based on early reviews. Rivian R1S: we’re not in a huge rush, so we’ve thought about putting a deposit down for an R1S and waiting a year plus. Volvo XC90: again, ticks all the boxes, but not in love with the interior and the infotainment system. Lincoln Navigator: would cover all our needs and some, but seems like unless you go for the top trim level it’s just a dressed-up Ford for $30k more. Infiniti QX80/Genesis GV80: not as familiar with these, like combo of features for the price point but not sure about reliability? Lexus LX/GX: currently have an NX, has been reliable and relatively cheap to maintain, but don’t like the infotainment at all (might be better now?) Audi Q7/Mercedes GLS/BMW X7: love the interior, worried about maintenance We’re trying to find the right balance of features, reliability, and price (who isn’t). Last couple of cars have been new but that was the days of sub 3% interest rates and better incentives, so no issues going used. I don’t have a hard and fast budget but preferably under $100k. I’m on the hunt for a 7 seat SUV due to growing family plus pets plus frequent trips. ![]() Made a decision and getting ready to make a purchase?
